Our story
Some places are built for events. This one was built on generations of love.
In 1966, my grandparents purchased this beautiful property and lovingly named it Tanglewood. It quickly became the heart of our family. A place where birthdays were celebrated, holidays were spent together, and generations gathered to make memories that would last a lifetime.
I was lucky enough to grow up here. Some of my happiest childhood memories were made exploring these woods, running through the fields, helping around the farm, and learning from the two people who taught me the true meaning of hard work, kindness, and home. They built more than a farm—they built a legacy rooted in love, family, and welcoming others.
Today, we’re grateful to continue that legacy by sharing this special place with couples beginning one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives.
We’re Shelby and Dane, and we believe the best celebrations feel personal, welcoming, and full of heart. As we built our own life together, we dreamed of creating a place where others could gather, celebrate, and make memories that would last for generations, just as our family has here for decades.
From the cobblestone streets of Savannah—where we first met in person—to the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, every adventure has become another chapter in our story. We love exploring beautiful places together, but no matter where life takes us, Tanglewood will always be home.
When we’re not preparing for events, you’ll usually find us caring for our goats, chickens, ducks, geese, and dogs. Life on the farm keeps us grounded and reminds us to appreciate the simple joys every day.
Shelby has spent over a decade photographing weddings, while Dane has dedicated his career to serving our community. Outside of work, we’re always up for trying a new restaurant, exploring somewhere new, spending time outdoors, or winding down with a simple evening by the fire.
